Privacy policy
John J. Lawless Insurance Agency, Inc. · 13 Whiting Street, Hingham, MA 02043 · Effective October 27, 2026
We do not sell your information. That includes sensitive information. We do not collect precise location data from your phone.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to insure you and help with your policies. That is mostly what you give us when you ask for a quote, a change, a certificate or other help:
- your name, address, phone number and email address
- details about the people, vehicles, property or business you want insured, such as dates of birth, driver's license numbers and past claims
- records of our emails, calls and text messages with you
Insurance companies may also get reports, such as driving records and claims history, to decide on and price your policy.
We collect information about household members, including young drivers, only as needed to insure them.
How we use it
We use your information to quote, place and service your insurance, to answer your questions, and to send you documents and notices about your policies.
Who we share it with
We share your information only as needed to do that work:
- insurance companies, wholesale brokers and insurance pools that quote, issue or service your coverage
- premium finance companies, if you finance your premium
- lenders, mortgage companies, landlords, and others you ask us to send proof of insurance to
- the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles and other government offices, when your insurance or registration requires it
- companies that run our email, phones, e-signatures, file storage and other office systems, only to provide those services to us
- anyone the law requires us to share with
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- show you the information we have about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete information we no longer need, unless the law or your insurance company requires us to keep it
To ask, email lawlessagency@gmail.com. We may need to confirm who you are first. We will not treat you differently for asking.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. We keep it only as long as we need it for your insurance or as the law requires.

Do you have enough coverage?
Ask yourself: if your insurance company issued a check for the coverage amount on your policy, would it be enough to rebuild your home and protect everything you’ve worked for?
- Check local construction costs. Materials and labor change over time. Make sure your coverage would fully rebuild your home today.
- Don’t forget flood coverage. Standard homeowners policies don’t cover floods, and flooding can happen outside flood zones too.
- Protect beyond the basics. An umbrella policy adds protection when a lawsuit or claim goes past your home or auto limits.
- Review and update when needed. Your policy should reflect your needs. If your limits are too low, we’ll help you explore your options.
We cannot make changes to your policy without your express consent.
